Wednesday WIPpet from Chapter Six of First of Her Kind

Today I’m guest-posting about writing the uncomfortable over at The Athele Series. Before you go zipping over there, however, it’s Wednesday and that means WIPpet time. Here then, six lines from Chapter Six of First of Her Kind:

Ciara’s heart lurched against her chest at the thought of another attack, and she whirled, prepared to run. The flash of panic brought her earth magic swarming protectively around her, but it faded as soon as her eyes landed on the archer. “Bolin!”

He stood in the middle of the road, another arrow drawn and aimed.

“This one’s not for the tree,” he said to Donovan, and his gaze never left his target. “Ciara, come here.”

Now, get out of here. Go read my guest post and show Kaitlin and Michael some love.

  2. There’s a manly man for you: “This one’s not for the tree,” I’m really looking forward to reading more about Bolin and Ciara. Great WIPpet.

  3. There is something about Bolin that I really, really like. Don’t know why. The name choice is perfect, as I have this pic in my head that really seems to match the time/setting of your novel. I’ll be interested to see how accurate my pic is when I read your book. 🙂

    • He was relatively easy for me to write, sad to say. You’ll have to let me know if he does fit your image of him. I’m glad you like him. Not everyone will. 😉 I, however, have a crush on him. *le sigh*
