Greylands Cover Reveal

Way back in March of 2012 — I can’t believe it was that long ago! — I came across a post entitled Greylands: Adopted on The Raven’s Quill. Basically, Krista Walsh was opening up her world and allowing authors to come play in it. Not only did the premise intrigue me, but a character immediately inserted himself into my brainpan and demanded I tell his side of the tale. If you read any of those contributions, you’ll know it’s generally not wise to argue with Fletch. Flawed, damaged, scary . . . Fletch was great fun to explore and write. Playing in someone else’s world took a lot of the pressure off, allowing me to dive deeper into my character’s psyche *shudder* and discover what made him tick.

When the project came to its inevitable conclusion I harbored a secret — and maybe not-so-secret — hope that Krista would do something further with it. Today, I am beyond excited to give you both the blurb to Greylands, and the cover as well (created by moi — since I’ll be hung out to dry if I don’t toot my own horn).

If you want to know more about Greylands, I suggest you read THIS POST or come back next week when I’ll be interviewing Krista regarding the whole adventure. Who knows, there may even be an excerpt involved.

First, The Blurb:

Within Greylands, a city crippled by recession and oppressed by a corrupt police force, a starving seventeen year old Alexis fights to survive. When her brother is killed on a food raid, she has two choices: life in prison for shoplifting, or escaping to the Shadows, an underground world of thieves, scavengers, and cons.
But after a member of the city’s elite is murdered, the Shadows faces extinction as the law seeks to lay the blame at its door. Their survival rests on Alexis’ shoulders as she finds herself in the middle of a deadly conspiracy.
Truths are revealed and alliances are tested in this collection of serial stories. Nine unique authors come together to create a story that proves even the darkness is worth fighting for.

And now *cue trumpets and get my precious flying monkeys in here NOW* the Cover:

Soon, you’ll even find out where to buy Greylands. And, tell you what, on a spur of the moment decision by the non-executive committee and a glass of fine Irish Mist, if you help spread the word about Greylands via Twitter, FaceBook, Blogs, whatever and wherever, and leave me a comment with the link, I’ll put your name in a drawing to win a FREE E-COPY. Each link earns you one entry into the drawing and the contest will run until November 4th. Yeah, that’s cool.
