A Little Bit of WIPpet Wednesday
This week is trudging along. That always seems to happen when I have big plans for the weekend. This Friday I’ll be heading up to MN for another stockdog trial. That means I won’t be on much between Thursday night and Monday some time. I’ll try to get around to all the WIPpeteers, but I make no promises.
If you missed Monday’s interview with the outrageously talented Jeff Salyards, get thee back a post. I’m too
lazy busy right now to go looking up links for folks today (and I still have to write my Fictional Friday post — if you don’t know what that’s all about, get thee back two posts).
Let’s see…WIPpet…Oh, before I forget, a friend and reader of mine mentioned in an e-mail that she didn’t know what WIPpet meant. That means I’ve been remiss. A WIPpet is an excerpt from a Work In Progress or, as we call them, a WIP snippet. WIPpet. And mine, for the 11th of June, comes from Edge of Darknesseven though I keep threatening to not use it any more for fear of spoilers. It just so happens I wrote a bit. No fancy math today, just 11 sentences with Grumnlin.
“Come now, little man, don’t be stubborn.”
Grumnlin folded his arms across his chest and turned his back on the nightshade. He’d come to tell them apart now that he had spent two passes of the silver face with them. This one he called Skitterbug because she constantly darted about like the long-legged insects that skated on the open pools of water in his beloved swamp.
“I only want to see it. To look at it. Not to touch it. Just to look.”
Grumnlin waved his hands in the air as though batting away midges. “Go away.”
“I could take it from you.”
Alright, that’s all you get from me today. Go forth and enjoy your Wednesday. Feel free to stop by the other WIPpeteers or even join in with your own. Oh, and don’t forget, First of Her Kind is being doled out on Wattpad. Chapter Three went live Monday, Chapter Four is scheduled for Friday.
